Hey Ivan-hoe, and all the people at the Flea who worked with my Holy Grail

I would to thank you for this wonderful microphone It took my breath away.

I am so accustomed to its sound that I take it with me when I want to hold a simple conversation with the farmers out of town or when I order pizza or buy tomatoes on the market

To describe the sound of FLEA 47 it would require a beautiful girl who read One Thousand and One Nights book letter by letter in slowmotion you dont wanna fall a sleep and you dont wanna her to stop.. reading with her silkysmooooth voice who caress your soul and your ears.

My acoustic instruments fall in love with the microphone too. Should I be jealous? Contact a doctor perhaps ?

Hello Emir what kind of tube is it in your Flea and capsule ? Is it on a brighter side ?

I have a old Neumann U47 VF14 and found a little bit dark on acoustics but it takes EQ very well and it has huge sound as well and takes much od space in mixes .
I am testing Wagner and new Telefunken U47 reissue now but i found that both have a different sound and they are no like my old Neumann U47 on vocals .
Maybe it depends on years of using IT i dont know . Neumann is much better for that.
Telefunken are much much more brighter and not even close in sound of Neumann.
My technician have opened a Telefunken to see a tube they using and it is their own tube .



What are the diffrences between capsules F7 and Tiersch in Flea 47?

What are the diffrences of tubes in Flea ?

Which of Flea U47 is brighter than the other Flea U47?

Is Flea tube microphone cable same as in Neumann U47 can i use it maybe ? I think that i have a little trouble with my old cable in connectors.

Please read about differences in tubes here: we already wrote about it in this thread:

The truth is that with EF12 tube we can get the closest character of sound to U47 with VF47.

Difference between our F7 and Thiersch M7:
We make F7 in modification with polyester or mylar diaphragm, Mr. Thiersch has modification also with PVC skin.
There shouldn´t be any difference between our polyester or mylar and his polyester or mylar.

But regarding to his PVC M7 capsules, are people who say - as the PVC material used for capsule skinning is more tenuous, not so plasticized as polyester film or mylar film, so this PVC is able to catch more detailed, small nuances of the sound mainly on higher frequencies. Output sensitivity is also higher about 1,5 dB than polycarbonat or mylar.
Disadvantage of the PVC is its shorter lifetime, there is more quick aging than at polyester or mylar.

The brightest sound has FLEA 47 with UF14 in comparison to EF14 or EF12, then EF14 in comparison to EF12.

FLEA cable wouldn´t match your original microphone set, the connector in microphone side will match your original mic,
but on the side to the power supply, we use binder connectors instead of original old tuchel connectors.

Of course, if you would need, we can make the cable that will match your original set.

Can it take more eq as well ?
How much brighter is UF14 vs EF12 in sound ? and where about in frequency ?

Hello Peter,

Flea 47/EF12 can be equipped with mylar or PVC capsule but we offer it basically with our mylar capsule because when we use it with our mylar capsule we can get the closest character of sound to our well-serviced u47 with VF14.
And how much brighter is UF14 than EF12? It's hard to say, it is not any big difference, only small nuances that makes UF14 brighter.

My Flea 47 is with EF12 baby inside and F7 capsule as a Kings Crown. It is a very musculous and can be beaten by a lots of EQ and still going strong and pretty everyway everytime .

My microphone collection got a NEW King

If people could married a microphone so i would be one of them

Taste of it is like a finest chocolate cacao people can make very tasty and smooth.

So maybe a Flea 47 EF12 is more like your Old Neumann U47 with V14.

I have no chance yet to test an old Neumann U47 but if you can test a Flea 47 somewhere so you should do that and compare with your mic. If you need a little brighter Flea so maybe one with U14 tube is way to go as Ivan wrote.
